Miami-Dade County, Florida, U.S.A. – February 05, 2010 – The Family Enrichment Through Computing and Hope Program, Inc. (F.E.T.C.H.) announced today that the organization's board of directors approved a name change to the Family Enrichment Community Learning Center, Inc.
This new development essentially serves to highlight the broadened horizon of services, resources and expertise which the organization is able to offer to local communities, added Andrew Barrett Sr., Executive Director of the new Family Enrichment Community Learning Center, Inc.
With less emphasis on the term computing (and it’s limiting implications) and a more meaningful application of the organization’s goals and core values, the Family Enrichment Community Learning Center, Inc.'s mission is to provide a broader array of enrichment opportunities for at-risk youth, whether they are drop-outs or presently attending high-poverty and low-performing schools. These opportunities represents an extension of services offered by this organization, which includes life skills training, math, literacy and other educational services to adults in the families of youths receiving services from the Family Enrichment Community Learning Center.
By employing a supportive and holistic approach, the Family Enrichment Community Learning Center will make it possible for all of its participants to realize their fullest potential at home, at school, in the workplace, and in the community. The programs they develop will help students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading, math and science, as well as help them prepare for entering college or the work-force equipped with the appropriate skill-set and experience.
Family Enrichment Community Learning Center will provide the following services for our participants and their families
